Support groups offer a place where people can meet in a safe environment to express their feelings and fears, and get support, advice and guidance from others who know what it feels like living with social anxiety disorder or who love someone who does. Having any illness or disorder can be very isolating and you may feel very alone. Joining a support group can help you cope with the pain by allowing you to share your experiences with people who really understand you and know what you are going through.
The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) has a list of support groups around the country that can help you.
